Few data are available to date on the use of artificial nutrition in patients with COVID-19. In both adults and children, enteral nutrition should be started immediately after admission to the intensive care unit. The correct indication, including timing, for parenteral nutrition is particularly important. The use of some macronutrients, rather than others, should be considered very carefully, in the light of the patient’s particular metabolic and respiratory conditions.
