Acute liver failure is a rapidly progressive clinical condition characterized by a severe impairment of liver function leading to synthetic and detoxification failure. It is associated with high mortality rate without liver transplantation. Identifying the causes of acute liver failure and predictors of death or liver transplantation is crucial to decide its management.
