COVID-19 lockdown showed a decrease in pediatric emergency department visits mainly due to the fear of contracting SARS CoV-2. We report a case of 15-month-od boy, who presented abdominal distension, generalized edema and weight loss, with a delayed access to health care. Laboratory studies revealed hypoproteinemia and positive serologic test for celiac disease. A severe form of celiac crisis - from not accessing health care - was finally diagnosed. Even during Covid-19 Pandemic, parents should continue to access medical care and must not delay visits and treatments if their child appears seriously ill.
