Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by relapsing-remitting clinical course. IBD are systmatic disease, affecting and influencing the life of young children and adolescents beyond the gastrointestinal tract. A multidisciplinary approach including the cooperation between the different figures involved in the management of IBD – the pediatric gastroenterologist, the surgeon, the nurse staff, the psychologist and the different clinicians such as the rheumatologist, the dermatologist and the endocrinologist – is essential for a correct management of IND and to take care of patients also in terms of quality of life and to improve their experiences with such chronic disease, which is crucial when dealing with pediatric patient.
