Acute pancreatitis (PA) in children has increased over the past decade with distinct etiology and prognosis. In 2017 by using a grading system for different reports the NASPGHAN Pancreas Committee concluded that evidences were of “low” or “very low” quality, lacking a uniform classification of PA in children, and a standardized clinical strategy by healthcare professionals. No controlled studies represent the major obstacle to define guidelines for diagnosing and treating PA in children.
