Diet is frequently associated with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, especially in subjects with functional GI disorders (FGIDs). In recent years, interest has been focused on the low fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols (FODMAPs) diet, that seems to be effective in the management of GI symptoms.
