Peutz Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is an autosomal dominant condition characterized gastrointestinal (by hamartomatous polyps throughout the GI) tract and mucosal cutaneous pigmentation, especially of the vermilion border of the lips. PJS is associated with increased risk of GI and non-GI malignancies. The predominant clinical features of PJS are the result of GI polyposis, which can lead to abdominal pain, intussusception, and bleeding. We report the case of a teenage boy suffering from PJS, operated on for intussusception of the small intestine ten years ago. Because of obscure GI bleeding, he was investigated by capsule endoscopy, which identified a large ileal polyp which was successfully removed by single-balloon enteroscopy. The development of capsule endoscopy and deviceassisted enteroscopy has significantly improved our ability to diagnose and treat patients suffering from this disorder
