In Crohn’s Disease (CD) multiple intestinal resections result in Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS)-Intestinal Failure (IF) and may require Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN). Biological drugs are effective in clinical and endoscopic remission but the long term risk of SBS-IF remain uncertain. Here we reports nutritional aspects of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and efficacy of TPN and teduglutide on clinical course of SBS.
