Liver transplantation is the treatment of choice for end stage liver disease. In children, graft short age due to graft-to-recipient weight mismatch is overcome by use of partial liver grafts (reduced grafts, split liver grafts and living donor liver transplantation). Neonates and very smal linfants have special issues related to a greater mismatch that can be managed with the use of monosement grafts. By means of a systematic review, we describe the different technical approaches to monosegment transplantation, their indications and results. Moreover, we reviewed our Centre series of pediatric liver transplantation with special attention to neonates and small infant recipients and to the type grafts used.
