A wide variety of pancreatic disorders are associated withPaediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). These include acutepancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, the presence of circulatingpancreatic (non-islet B cell) autoantibodies, asymptomaticelevation of pancreatic enzymes (lipase and amylase) and benignabnormalities of the pancreatic duct. In general pancreaticproblems are more common in individuals with Crohn’s disease(CD) with the exception of autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreaticexocrine insufficiency which are more common in ulcerative colitis(UC).
