Around 45% of deaths among children under 5 years of ageare linked to malnutrition, mostly in low-income countries.The implementation of WHO guidelines for inpatienttreatment of children with both severe and moderatecomplicated acute malnutrition (AM) can lower themortality rate of children aged 6-59 months. Innovativespecially formulated foods are the key of the Community-based Management of uncomplicated AM, which allow tomaximize coverage and access.
